Password protection
Add a password and the files stay hidden until it is entered. Recipients don't see file names, sizes or download buttons before they unlock the page.
Upload your files, add a password if you want one, and send a single private link. Links expire on their own and downloads can be capped, so nothing stays online longer than it should.
Send it to anyone you want to share these files with.
Nova Drop keeps private file sharing simple. Set the rules once, send the link, and the recipient gets a clean page with their files ready to preview or download.
Add a password and the files stay hidden until it is entered. Recipients don't see file names, sizes or download buttons before they unlock the page.
Choose 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days. When the time is up, the link stops working and the files can no longer be opened.
Cap a drop at 1, 5 or 25 downloads, or leave it unlimited. Every download counts, so a link can't be passed around forever.
Images, PDFs, video, audio and text files open right in the browser, so recipients can check a file before saving it.
Add up to 20 files to a single drop. Recipients get a card for each file and one button to download everything as a ZIP.
Both the upload page and the shared page are built for phones, tablets and desktops. Nobody needs an account.
Drag files into the upload area or browse for them. Add several at once, up to 100 MB each.
Pick an expiry time and a download limit. Switch on password protection if the files are private.
Copy the link and send it. Recipients open a page with their files, entering the password first if you set one.
Email attachments run into size limits, sit in inboxes for years and get forwarded to people you never meant to reach. A Nova Drop link is temporary file sharing by design: it works for the time you choose, for the number of downloads you allow, and only for people who have the link and, if you set one, the password.
| Email attachment | Nova Drop | |
|---|---|---|
| Large files | Often rejected by size limits | Up to 100 MB per file |
| Who can open it | Anyone the email reaches | Anyone with the link, or only people with the password |
| How long it lasts | Until someone deletes it | 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days |
| Recipient needs | An email client | Just a browser |
No. They open the link in any browser. If you protected the drop, they type the password and the files appear.
Turn on password protection before you create the link. Anyone who opens it sees only a password page. File names, types and sizes stay hidden until the right password is entered, and the file URLs check the password too. After several wrong attempts the page pauses for a minute.
You choose: 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days. Once a link expires, the page and the files behind it stop being available.
Yes. Pick 1, 5 or 25 downloads, or unlimited. Each download counts toward the limit, including a ZIP of all files. When the limit is reached, the link stops working.
Images (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, SVG, AVIF), PDFs, plain-text and code files, video (MP4, WebM, MOV) and audio (MP3, WAV, OGG) open in the browser. Other formats, such as ZIP or Office files, are download-only.
Each file can be up to 100 MB, and one drop can hold up to 20 files.
Files are only served through checked Nova Drop links, and passwords are stored as one-way hashes. Files are not end-to-end encrypted, so for highly sensitive documents, encrypt them before you upload.
