Coverage

What this tool checks

24 checks across six areas, each with a pass, warning or fail and a plain explanation of how to fix it.

Meta

Meta tags

Title length and duplicates with the H1, meta description length, canonical tag, robots and X-Robots-Tag noindex, viewport, the lang attribute, Open Graph and Twitter card tags.

Content

Content and headings

Exactly one H1, heading order with no skipped levels, word count with a thin content warning under 300 words, and your keyword in the title, H1, description and first 100 words.

Images

Images

Images with no alt attribute, decorative images with empty alt, and images missing width and height, which cause layout shift while the page loads.

Links

Links

Internal and external link counts, nofollow links, and links with no anchor text, alt text or aria-label, like bare icon links.

Technical

Technical

HTTPS and mixed content, status code, redirect chain, server response time, HTML size, compression, and URL length and readability.

Schema

Structured data

Whether the page has JSON-LD, whether every block is valid JSON, and which schema types it declares, including types inside @graph.

Scoring

How to read your score

The score is a quick health check, not a ranking prediction. Use it to compare pages and track progress after each round of fixes.

80 to 100Good

The basics are in place. Work through any remaining warnings, then put your time into content and links.

50 to 79Needs work

Some important pieces are missing or weak. Fixing the high priority items usually lifts the score quickly.

0 to 49Poor

Something serious is holding the page back, often a noindex tag, an error status, or a missing title and description.

  1. Weights follow impact. The title, robots tag and status code count for the most. The meta description, H1, HTTPS and your keyword come next. Social tags and image dimensions count for the least.
  2. Warnings earn half points. A pass earns full points and a fail earns none. Info results, like a page with no images, don't count either way.
  3. Priority tells you where to start. Every fail is high priority. Warnings on heavily weighted checks are medium, and the rest are low.
  4. Some problems cap the score. A noindex page or one that doesn't return status 200 can't rank, so its score stops at 40 until that's fixed.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is this on-page SEO checker really free?

Yes. There is no signup, no email gate and no paid tier. You can run 15 checks every 10 minutes, which is enough to work through a site page by page and recheck each one after you fix it.

How is the SEO score calculated?

Each check passes, warns or fails, and each one has a weight based on how much it affects rankings. A missing title or a noindex tag weighs far more than a missing Twitter card. A pass earns full points, a warning earns half, and the total is scaled to 100. If the page is set to noindex or doesn't return status 200, the score is capped at 40, because nothing else matters until that is fixed.

Why is my score different from other SEO tools?

Every tool picks its own checks and weights, so scores never match exactly. Use the score to track progress on the same page over time, and focus on the issue list. Fixing the high priority items will move rankings more than chasing a perfect 100.

Does it check content that loads with JavaScript?

No. It reads the HTML your server sends, the same first view a search engine crawler gets before running scripts. If your title, headings or text only appear after JavaScript runs, they will show as missing here, and that is worth fixing with server side rendering or prerendering.

What length should my title tag and meta description be?

Aim for 50 to 60 characters for the title and 150 to 165 for the meta description. Google cuts longer ones off in search results by pixel width, so put the main keyword and the reason to click near the start of each.
